Bethesda VP Peter Hines has promised to announced new games later in 2013.
“I think you’ll hear us making considerably more noise this year than we did last year, as a publisher.” said Hines. “Obviously the Elder Scrolls Online is out and we’ve got the Dishonored DLC, but we will be announcing new stuff and making some noise, and I think when we get the chance to show you guys what we’re up to, that you’ll sit up and take notice.”
Unfortunately, Hines seems to have been being as vague as he can as he hasn’t revealed any specific information as to what the publisher might announce. Though he did say it would be worth the wait. “I think we’re continuing to do the stuff that we get excited about, and people will get really excited about when they hear what we’re up to, which is continuing to push the boundaries, reinvent – find really smart, passionate teams who know what they’re doing and have an idea that they really want to do and do well.”
“So who that is, and what they’re doing is TBD but, when I’m next in London to do this, hopefully we’ll be able to talk more and gauge your reaction.”
There have been a few speculations regarding what Bethesda might announce later this year. Fallout 4 is highly possible. Fallout 3‘s Three Dog voice actor Erik Todd Dellums recently posted a tweet that teased the next installment in the series. Bethesda was also reported to have registered a “Fallout TV” trademark.
Another possibility is Dishonored 2 which Hines explained last year has the potential of becoming a “new franchise.” Franchise doesn’t necessarily mean a sequel but neither can a franchise be a single title. Maybe they’ll just keep dishing out DLCs.
Doom 4 is also rumored to be a next-gen project. The Doom franchise has been developed by id Software since the first title in the series.
