The Dark Souls II beta is due to begin on 12th October, according to an announcement by Namco Bandai today. This will be available in Europe, North America, and Australia. The beta appears to only be available on the PS3.

There will also be a second beta round, beginning on 27th October. The beta can be signed up for by downloading a ‘Dark Souls II Beta Registration Ticket‘ from the Playstation Store. This does not guarantee entry, with only certain players being allowed entry.

Dark Souls II is a highly anticipated release, and after the critical and commerical success of Dark Souls, it’s good to see Namco Bandai putting in effort to ensure the game is thoroughly tested.

Dark Souls II is due to be released March next year, for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Check out the trailer:
