Halo designer David Ellis commented on Hideo Kojima’s recent announcement that the “sexy” design of female character Quiet from Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain is “disgusting.”

According to GameSpot, when Ellis was asked if MGS’ eccentricity reflected Quiet’s design choice he said, “Eccentricity is a cute cover word for objectification and sexism.” The tweet that included this statement has since been unnaccessible. Ellis said that sexuality can be “used for purpose” in video games like in Bayonetta for example. However, when it comes to MGS V, he said that “this feels lazy and exploitative.” “I like breasts as much as the next guy but this felt icky,” he said.

Funny enough, many of the replies he got from these complaints about sexuality mention the redesign Cortana in Halo 4 – she was practically naked.
