Amidst Microsoft’s policy u-turns on the Xbox One, it is rumored that the company is currently reconsidering allowing indie studios to self publish on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

An unidentified European indie studio with “a long proven track record” told Gamereactor that they are currently talking to Microsoft about self-publishing on Xbox Live.

The policy reversal will allow even the smallest indie developers to compete with larger indie studio to keep the latter from “simply [publishing] anything they produce as Microsoft wants to keep from flooding the market with software.”

The unnamed studio also mentioned that Microsoft may also lower the price of SDKs, which currently costs a $10,000, for certain indie developers.
