In an interview with Shack News, Popcap confirmed that its upcoming third-person shooter Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be multiplayer-only.
The game will instead support up to four players in co-op mode, and up to 24 players in a competitive mode. Powered by the Frostbite engine, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will have a far higher budget than the previous games in the series. However, the game will be releasing at a budget price of $39.99 in the US.
It has also been confirmed that the Xbox One will feature an exclusive mode called “Boss Mode”. This will allow players to be either Doctor Zomboss or Crazy Dave, and use Smart Glass and Kinect to control hordes of zombies. Here’s the trailer for the exclusive mode:
Due for release on PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be out next year.
