Pro League of Legends players punished for ‘Elo-Boosting’
Several professional League of Legends players have been suspended after it was discovered that they were “Elo-Boosting.”
Riot defines Elo-Boosting as “the repetitive and intentional act of an individual playing on someone else’s account (a “client”) for the purpose of artificially improving the client’s Elo rating.”
8 professional players, including one coach, have been issued a 14-day suspension on their accounts and their League Championship Series Season Two rewards revoked.
“Elo-boosting damages the interests of players of all skill levels because it cheats the internal matchmaking system of League of Legends,” said the report.
