Following the news that some scenes will be removed for the Australian release, it has now emerged that the European release of South Park: The Stick of Truth will be a cut version of what our friends in the US will be playing.
The news emerged after a review guide was leaked on NeoGaf. The guide reveals that a few of the mini-games featured in South Park: The Stick of Truth will be replaced with an image background and text description. This will apply to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
We don’t doubt that Matt and Trey will have come up with equally funny replacements, probably mocking the censoring itself. Despite this, it’s frustrating that us Europeans will not be experiencing the full game as originally envisaged.
Eurogamer questioned Ubisoft regarding the censoring, who have stated that, “this was a market decision.” Some are speculating that this was done in order to secure a release in Germany, known for its strict regulation of video game content.
South Park: The Stick of Truth will be released on PC and consoles on the 7th of March.
